Pros

The only good reason to work at Chewy is the fact they absolutely take care of their customers. I've never worked or seen a company do so much to keep the customer happy and satisfied.

Cons

With that being said, they absolutely did NOT care about the employees. I've never worked with so many managers that were only looking out for themselves. Gossip runs rampant and the managers and supervisors are the worst ones. When other reviews say it's like high school, they aren't lying. And if you don't chime in on their gossip or laugh when they're making fun of other employees out loud, you might as well quit now. I thought the high road would get you higher up in the company, but I can tell you that none of the managers knows what the "high road" is, it's only what you can do for them. I can tell you with absolute certainty that when you are sick and have to call out, you better have that one understanding manager on the other line when you call in because they will make you feel very small.

Pros

I am an artist and I get to do an art-related job. The schedule is flexible when things pop up. I get health insurance and 401k and a lot of free food, and there is free gym access in the office building. The people I work with are all generally very cool, friendly, and/or fun to work with.

Cons

The pay rate is below the industry standard for production artists. I am not able to afford a place of my own. I live with my parents and I work another job to supplement my income. I am basically surviving and able to pay all my bills, but I would not be able to live a full life on my own with the pay rate as it is now. The work culture portrays itself as progressive and inclusive place but it is the typical corporate toxic environment.
