Pros

No late nights allowing you to have a great work and life balance. Some lovely talented young people, who like me, didn't stick around and found new career opportunities quite quickly. Good package on offer considering the low turnover and few clients. The HR manager was highly professional and actually cared about people. Free avocado and egg breakfasts!

Cons

1. High staff turnover 2. Founder and 'leadership team' lack integrity 3. They pass off VCCP's work as their own and their creds are littered with lies 4. No creatives or designers 5. 95% women 6. No culture 7. Leadership team brought their personal issues to work 8. Very few clients 9. One of the Directors would come in, make personal calls all day, paint her nails and spray tan herself at her desk - as the founder's friend, this was OK 10. Loyalty programmes and not strategic brand partnerships

Pros

Lively, friendly and sociable office filled with people from a range of backgrounds (gaming, PR, film, TV and media). Interesting melting-pot of experience means that everyone has something to contribute. Best thing has to be free breakfasts, egg and avocado every morning if you want it! Genuine commitment to partnerships internally too – collaboration is encouraged and rewarded with team prizes every month, we won last month for non-client related work, which was refreshing. Everyone pitches in and information is shared regularly in weekly and monthly catch-ups. Trust from management – after feedback from the away day they recognised we put in the hours so now we have early finishes every Friday and the Founder funded a private boot camp instructor for us over the summer, which has brought everyone together in and outside work.

Cons

The pace is fast and the bar is set high. This can be unsettling for some and in a small agency, your attitude makes a big impact - you need to be comfortable with this kind of challenge and visibility. Expectations are high and everyone gives 100% so you stand out if you don’t. It’s high-growth and expects its people to grow also – if you want to be pushed – it’s great but training hasn’t always matched. Having said that, I’ve had 3 training sessions this year so things are starting to shift and there are ample opportunities to develop your career with exposure to big name clients. Never enough meeting rooms but same grumbles as the last place I worked!
