Pros

None due to insatiability of the workplace

Cons

Working at Cheney Care Center was, at first, a deeply fulfilling experience. I had the honor of caring for the residents, building relationships, and making a difference in their lives. But sadly, my time there turned into one of the most disheartening experiences of my career. Imagine dedicating yourself to a job, giving your heart to the residents, only to have everything ripped away in an instant—no warning, no explanation, just the cold reality that your efforts can be erased overnight. This is exactly what happened to me. One day, I was part of the team; the next, I was terminated without notice. After weeks of stress, confusion, and uncertainty, my termination was rescinded, but the damage was done. This is not just about losing a job; it's about losing trust—trust in the leadership, trust in the stability of your position, and trust in the idea that hard work and loyalty will be rewarded. The environment became one where I constantly felt like I was walking on eggshells, knowing that my entire livelihood could be threatened again at any moment, without explanation. What makes this even harder is the emotional toll. I can no longer allow myself to get close to the residents, knowing that, at any time, I could be forced to leave them behind again. When you care deeply about the people you serve, this is devastating. If you're considering applying to Cheney Care Center, I urge you to think twice. Stability, trust, and support are things every employee should be able to count on—unfortunately, I didn’t find that here. This is a workplace where your dedication can be disregarded in an instant. For anyone looking to build a meaningful, lasting career, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. You deserve better.

Pros

This facility truly cares about it's resident and striving towards constant improvement. Being privately owned, changes/improvements can happen quickly though not always well organized. The environment is generally pleasant with a team that typically works well together.

Cons

Like other jobs, there may be some internal drama and struggles with staffing. The company relies heavily on agency staffing to cover openings, leaving to some care inconsistencies, but this is better than being understaffed.
