Prejudice and Toxicity - Assistant Fashion Designer Chaser Employee Review

There is a lot of prejudice among the higher-ups, including racism and ableism. Frequent comments were made that made their privilege and ignorance towards People of Color and Disabled People apparent. As a Disabled Person, I was screamed at and berated due to my disability. At an Assistant level, it was expected to design the entirety of Kid’s and Men’s collections (among other tasks) and help with Women’s due to design team seniors constantly being late on the collections (which higher-ups knew and often spoke about). It was constantly expected to pick up the work of others, to be the main source of organization within design and product development, and to be drowning in work, though working constantly. The benefits were unfavorable with minimal PTO and expensive opt-ins. The environment is toxic and my hope in leaving this review is that no one else ends up working for this company.
