Pros

Only speaking for myself my personal career experience at JP Morgan Chase as been very satisfying, being a current employee with 18 years of seniority. Granted the pay scale is some what on the average for financial institutions in a call center business environment, located in the Tampa Fl area. In some work areas pay incentives are in place for additional money for business metrics that are achieved. Raises are reviewed on a yearly format. I feel how ever that the benefits that you are offered balance out the pay issue. Job advancement is definitely available and is based on solely your job performance. Chase will work with you within reason to help you balance your personal life with your work life. Paid vacation time is determined by years of service and where you are at in the management hierarchy. You have six paid sick days per rolling calendar year, two paid personal days; paid federal bank holidays depend in the line of business you are employed in. Health insurance and prescription coverage are affordable and you have several plans to choose from. Chase also extends health insurance to verifiable domestic partners. Access to Employment Assistance Program is available if you are experiencing personal problems affecting your work life such as Health, finances, elder care, child care, drug dependency issues you will be referred to a qualified agency to assist you. Please let me stress that this service is paid by Chase and is completely ANONYMUS! In some Chase locations emergency child care service is available. You may participate in the 401 retirement fund also Chase offers a separate retirement fund where Chase will contribute a certain amount of money in a separate retirement account of which the percentage is based on yearly salary and how long your years of employment are. You are fully vested in that program after five years of service. Chase does offer a generous severance package if they choose to close the line of business that you are in, as a rule they will try to let you know as far in advance has they can. Chase is not required to offer a severance package. Depending on your years of service will determine the amount of weeks you would receive your regular pay check. In my case that would be approximately 46 weeks. You will still have your health insurance for you and anybody else on your program while you are on severance leave. If you are employed in a line of business where you receive a shift differential you will still receive that as well. Chase will also put you in contact with sub-contracted company which handles ex-employees that are in job transition to assist you in securing new employment. There is no cost to you to take advantage of this service. If you are adaptable to working in a para-military environment and I speak with candor some areas can be more micro-managed than others Chase, might be a corporation you might want to explore further.

Cons

Location of the major business sites in Tampa is located at 4915 Independence Parkway, Adjacent to the Tampa airport and 10430 Highland Manor Drive in Brandon Fl considered as East Tampa. When considering your job options decide what your maximum amount of travel time you are comfortable with. In order to meet the needs of the business and customer satisfaction. Mandatory over time can be required in certain lines of business. You may be also required to travel to another business site in state or out of state for an emergency contingency plan they may or not pay for the transportation of a spouse. Plan to pay for your own lunch. You might be stationed at the alternative job site for an undetermined amount of time until work can proceed at your regular job site. New employees may be required to work a shift that includes a week end an example would be working Monday through Wednesday with Thursday and Friday off continuing back to work on Saturday and Sunday or a split weekend shift either having Saturday or Sunday off, generally shift bids will be available during the year how ever they are filled by seniority with the company. As an employee of Chase you will be expected to comply with your assigned work schedule, start time, lunch, and break times. Adherence of these schedules is closely monitored. Absences due to illness or other reasons including late work arrival must be called in to a toll free attendance line. Business metrics are communicated and are required to be met. Deficiency in meeting these metrics can result in verbal coaching from your supervisor or manager. This might also include a written action plan where your job performance level must meet company requirements by a predetermined time period. Failure to comply may result in termination of your employment at Chase. Your work in environment will most likely will be in a cubicle format and your work cubicle will be assigned to you. Only senior management levels receive their own private office space. If employed in a call center environment you may find your self having to adjust to working with more external noise around you than you are use to. Hopefully this will not impede your concentration level. Minor differences with your co-workers are expected to be resolved first by you before escalating them to your supervisor or manager. Corporate dress code is out lined and strictly enforced.
