Pros

Great exposure to fast fashion. Very few managers were great, only 1 of them allowed us to be creative, try new trends, and didn't micromanage, valued work-life balance and made working here fun.

Cons

Fake-political-sorority type atmosphere at the Corporate Office, didn't acknowledge team members who were positively contributing to the business, would rather promote those who didn't do anything but kissed up to upper management despite double digit negative comps in their business (merch manager in denim), micro managing is the latest theme that has led to working many long nights and anxiety attacks, very unhealthy work life balance, upper management is too much in the weeds and doesn't allow their team members to grow in their career, the merchants and merch coordinators does everything while upper management takes all of the credit, treats them very poorly, doesn't listen to them, works them to the bone, and disregards their full potential, merchants that have been there for years are not open to testing new ideas and are too comfortable so they just want to cruise in their role not having a drive or passion to seek change to really drive the business, people are worn down, not compensated, paid way below the average salary in San Francisco, and hence get fed up and leave, so much turnover has happened in this company because upper management cannot get it together and bullies their direct reports below them.

Pros

Charlotte Russe was a great place to develop customer service and retail skills. The team environment was supportive, and management encouraged collaboration to meet sales goals. The job helped me improve my communication, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities while working in a fast-paced setting. Employee discounts were a nice benefit, and there were opportunities to learn about merchandising and visual displays.

Cons

Like many retail positions, the work schedule could be inconsistent and often included evenings, weekends, and holidays. The store could become very busy during sales and peak shopping seasons, which sometimes made the work environment stressful. Advancement opportunities were somewhat limited depending on store location and staffing needs.
