Pros
Most of the staff were friendly and easy to work with. Funding was never an issue, as the organization was growing in size and resources each year. The programs were well put together and presented professionally, with a strong emphasis on how they look and were perceived.
Cons
This organization had a toxic work culture where double standards and favoritism were prevalent. It's led by an ego-driven leader and possesses insufficient oversight and accountability as the Elder Board were hand picked by the senior leader. Leadership is very controlling and there was little room for disagreement, setting boundaries, or asking tough questions without facing negative consequences. Staff turnover was quite high during my time there, with many employees staying less than two years.
In general, the staff were very disorganized and communication was slow or unresponsive. Accountability wasn't applied consistently due to favoritism and double standards, which created frustration for multiple staff members. Overall, it wasn't an environment that felt healthy or safe.
