Pros
Ceres offers a lot of opportunity for growth, but you have to be willing to put in the work. I came into this company 11 years ago knowing nothing about the maritime industry. I worked my butt off to learn as much as I could and continue to do so. However, I wasn’t in it alone. I was mentored, coached, and yes, given some tough critiques along the way—but there’s positivity to be gained from that as well. Benefits are top notch, and salary is very competitive. Work/life balance is dependent on what position you’re applying for. Some of the jobs in the past organization are very demanding, but you’re informed of that upfront. So really, the work/life balance is dependent on what you’re willing to take on. I’ve never been led to believe otherwise. Even then, Ceres still respects your time. You just have to responsible in how you communicate your needs. They will work with you. Overall, this is the BEST Stevedoring company to work for. Ceres is at the forefront of all the expansion the industry is offering. If you’re willing to put in the work, than you can reap many benefits!
Cons
Demanding Hours. Have to be flexible. You may not know your schedule until a week before. Sometimes have to work nights. Depends on the location and position your applying for.
