Pros
To be honest, there is a biased representation of this company on Galssdoor. I am leaving the firm after 2 years and I can guarantee this company is much more than what represented here. 1. If the company sees value in you, you will be rewarded (intern to Associate in 18 months, and I am not the only example). 2. Expanding Market, growing team, projects. 3. Ambitious vision from the CEO. 4. Diverse and multicultural environment. 5. Amazing colleagues and culture across the junior resources. A true “team” spirit. 6. amazing work life balance. I don’t know how to stress this more. You won’t get another job in finance with this free much time. 7. You get the best possible insights on Private Equity trends!!!!! You will see - daily - transaction details from the best Private Equity investments in the world. - it is a great starting place to build your career. - you will be pushed to be a master of Excel. It is your daily use tool and mastering it will save a lot of time.
Cons
I read different things over here which are overweighted in my view. I would just like to address a couple: 1. “Job is boring”. You are not going to do Business plans nor pricing options, but finance is not only composed of that. Being active in such a particular space, you have to get to know the company’s assets and Business model before moving on to more strategic projects. CEPRES asset is its DATA. You have to get to know the data structure, data collection, data processing & pipeline to then understand how you can solve your clients problems with the CEPRES solutions. You can’t sell what you don’t know, and this “boring” task is necessary for you to learn how the company works. Plus, do you really think it’s so “boring” to scan through quarterly reports of the most prestigious PE actors and getting the latest industry trends? I leave this to the readers’ judgement. 2. “Lack of processes” CEPRES grew really fast in the last few years. Takes time to adapt a company from startup culture to a well-built framework. The management has hired great people to do this, this will just come with time. And as i see this, it is an opportunity for every employee to help designing these processes! There is certainly room for improvement in change management, mentorship programs and organisational structure. The good news is that the company is well aware of it all, and major changes are already on their way.
