Pros
You’ll work with smart, passionate coworkers who genuinely care about the mission. The schedule is flexible, and you’ll gain a ton of experience by wearing multiple hats — which is great if you’re trying to level up fast.
Cons
The CEO is corrupt, condescending, and constantly belittles women. He takes zero accountability for his actions. HR and the board only exist to protect him — they won’t address the toxic culture and will gaslight you into thinking you’re the problem if you speak up. Almost the entire staff has been replaced with overseas contractors, most of whom are paid low wages and are unfamiliar with the local community. For a nonprofit that claims to serve local entrepreneurs, it’s completely disconnected. The CEO made this shift purely to cut costs, laying off dedicated employees in the process. The result is a fragmented team, poor communication, and leadership that’s totally out of touch with the people they claim to support.
