Pros
as a QA I had a pretty cushy job. Lots of downtime, and not particularly strenuous. Company placed a pretty strong value on safety. Working under a good quality engineer was helpful. We were focused on improving processes, quality, safety, production, etc.
Cons
Work was a bit monotonous. Had to wear earplugs all the time. Came home smelling like machine oil everyday. I do feel like certain quality aspects were stifled in favor of production quota by certain upper level management. Pay was pretty decent for the area, but yearly raises were miniscule. Company is Canadian and the health insurance plan was from Illinois. It was pretty decent. This is not really a forever job, but it was a nice stepping stone into something else.
