Pros

CenCore will hire just about anyone with a clearance for the program i was on, especially if you have a military background. HR was usually pretty quick to respond to a request. unlimited overtime, however that was the programs decision, not the contractors. Little room for growth, but as I took an instructor position they did start paying me extra for it. (this is normal for every other contract on the program, and as far as i could tell, CenCore did not do this to other instructors prior to me)

Cons

CenCore was my first contracting position out of the military, and with it, i learned a lot about what i don't want in a contracting company. Onboarding was little to none, I met with a man that was on his way off the program for coffee one morning, and he shared what little information he could about the process. When attending the programs training pipeline, the CenCore HR and leadership were constantly last minute with requests about where to go, who to see, etc. Some of my biggest complaints was the pay disparity. The contract I worked at was MACSS, a larger contract in northern VA, supported by the NGA. CenCore was the least paid salary position across the subcontractors I came across from a year and a half working there. Additionally, I had some discrepancies with my first few timecards, which they did not seem to help with. I asked, after charting the additional "8 hours" for holidays for a few months, where that money was. They said that it was "built into my salary," however, when i asked other companies/team members, it wasn't. I fought this for over a year, and it fell on mostly deaf ears. We got a new program manager, and he seemed to fix it pretty quickly, and i got a large check in the mail a year and two months after starting the position. When leaving the program, CenCore informed me after i had submitted my two weeks, that my PTO was a "use it or lose it" and i would not be paid out. They also lock your PTO balance as soon as you submit your two weeks, however this information is not available to you prior to your submission, as it resided in a PDF that the manager had on his desktop. Lastly, pay raises are a joke. After a year of working shift work for this company, they offered me a 500$ raise. At that point i realized it was time to go somewhere my skills were more desired.
