Pros
Good commute out of the city, atrium/cafeteria is beautiful with exotic plants, pay and benefits are reasonable. There are some very nice people here, particularly in HR and the cell culture group.
Cons
Very, very disorganized company. Understaffed critical roles, severe lack of manager training (i.e. there is NO training!), sub-par bench skills of RAs (some don't even understand that you need to change pipette tips when working with different samples). No consequences for unprofessional behavior and management would rather look the other way and avoid conflict rather than step up and do their job. There was clear evidence of coworker sabotaging others' work and when brought to management, the advice was to "not give up!" and just deal with the person's behavior. Sketchy biohazard waste practices. Employees are instructed to bleach cell culture plates, then throw them in mainstream recycling. This practice depends too much on people doing the right thing and poses a risk to the environment. It seems like upper management is more concerned with saving money under the guise of "environmental responsibility" than paying for proper biowaste disposal.
