Misrepresentation is the game at CCG - Client Representative Capitol City Group Employee Review

Pros

No pros really, except the $10/hour. I thought I was getting this great opportunity to work at promoting brands/events because that is what the job posting described, but as it turns out the ad lied. The title and job did not exist at CCG. It ended up being a scam to get people in the door to be client representatives, which are basically those annoying people who approach you in Best buy or Home Depot and try to pitch you a promotion. If you're not a sales person this job isn't for you. They misrepresent job offerings, everyone starts as a "client representative." Starting pay is $10 an hour plus commission, but good luck making that commission when the potential customers want little or nothing to do with you. They just want to shop and be left alone. The only pro is that everyone is really nice. Some come off as fake nice, while others seem genuinely nice. Fun atmosphere, but not enough to keep me around.

Cons

As I said above. Nothing good about this job, unless you're desperate for the hourly wage. By the way, don't fall for the "we get weekends off" bit. If your team doesn't make goal all of you will work on Saturday. Also, advancement isn't like they say it is. They claim you can get promoted to Director of Operations in as little as 8 months. Most of the them were still in the store after several months. They are really good at feeding candidates lies.

Pros

They offer great exposure to several clients and hands on marketing/sales experience. This job has been a great out of college experience for me because I've been able to see what a direct marketing approach looks like without having to go door to door or be a telemarketer. It's also helped me learn about management and what it takes to move up in a company that provides real opportunities without having to sit behind some person who has been here for 25 years.

Cons

It is sales focused initially and that's definitely the hardest thing for me since I didn't know if I would be good at sales. However, they do compensate for that which is nice.
