Pros

If you're the kind of person who enjoys yelling at people in the middle of a store to sell cable packages then go for it.

Cons

This is a pyramid scheme with suits. They have an insentive to hire anyone who is moderately personable because they directly (personally) profit from your efforts. The whole "go from entry to manager in 8-10 months" thing is sketchy to begin with. The business model is to pump as many people through the "program" because it's all about sales volume, which there is nothing inherently wrong with. What is wrong, and what they don't tell you is that everytime they move someone up and expand the market the person above you makes more money and therefor you are incentivize to do the same. And I'm sure many people don't have a problem with this type of business model but it is falsely advertised as a legitimate marketing company whose model is akin to selling knifes door to door. You get no actual marketing experience and it is a total waste of time for people who spent 4 years in college to get thier degree. On that note, one last thing to prove my point, this was advertised as a job that requires a 4 year degree, by my 3rd (and final) day I had learned that not only did an astonishing amount of employees not even have so much as a 2-year degree but no less than 4 people I worked alongside readily admitted to past felony drug offenses. I quit when I was scolded for not harassing a single mom with a crying baby to buy DirectTV as she walked by.

Pros

They offer great exposure to several clients and hands on marketing/sales experience. This job has been a great out of college experience for me because I've been able to see what a direct marketing approach looks like without having to go door to door or be a telemarketer. It's also helped me learn about management and what it takes to move up in a company that provides real opportunities without having to sit behind some person who has been here for 25 years.

Cons

It is sales focused initially and that's definitely the hardest thing for me since I didn't know if I would be good at sales. However, they do compensate for that which is nice.
