Pros
The culture in other departments is very positive, free flowing and fantastic. Hybrid role so balances well. Able to buy extra holiday. Benefits are really good. Company days are a lovely treat.
Cons
Working in the Complaints Dept is awful. There is no regard for mental health even though the company pride themselves on being advocates for this. Month after month, day after day the department is inundated with work and rather than digging deep and resolving it, they stick a plaster on it.. and wait for the chaos to erupt again. Management are a clique, there are specific individuals who have no idea how to manage people and it's questionable how they came about this role. Especially when they have no people/empathy skills. Furthermore, they deem it acceptable to only reward their 'favourites' even when there are people in the department who have gone above and beyond! Shocking really. Upper management hold quarterly meetings and shout about how they understand the needs of agents, how they've been through it just like the agents. Truth is, they have no idea. The staff are underpaid for the amount of work they do, and Upper management who have been silver spoon fed actually don't have a clue about what it's like for the agents or the stresses they face daily. The department is target driven, and pretend they care about how you're getting on and dont want you to be stressed. When infact all they care about is whether you've released enough cases and add stress when they haven't been released. To progress to a different department takes a lot of work, but once you're out of this chaotic dept, believe me it gets a lot better. The grass truly is greener out of Complaints.
