Pros

Work life balance. Flexibility to work from home. 401K match. Potential for significant salary increases at EOY based on Board of Directors.

Cons

No transparency from changing leadership. Performance management is entirely contingent on your direct manager so if they are inexperienced or lack leadership skills, consider yourself screwed. Based on the rating system, associates are self interested and will withhold information from teammates in order to make themselves look good. The company claims they are diverse but they spend an insane amount of money sending leadership to classes and when they come back nothing has changed. Difficult to move departments because there are so many layoffs. No incentive to go above and beyond because there is no recognition unless you beg for it. Misogynistic attitude from the top down. The higher level associate, the greater chance of them acting like you don’t exist. If you are a head-down, get things done kind of a person, this is not the place for you.

Pros

Note- last year there was 2018, would not allow that option. Employee engagement always high priority.

Cons

Note- last year there was 2018, would not allow that option. Highly focused on sales vs service.

Pros

Some of the smartest individuals in their fields. The focus is always “forward” and the company is willing to adopt new tech to stay ahead for the purposes of the company’s (key word there) benefit. Great PTO and benefits.

Cons

The company’s drive to keep itself moving forward has caused it to regress in other aspects. As a leading tech company first, and leading bank second, it’s embarrassing what their stance is on hybrid and remote work. The company can easily accommodate remote options for their employees not near main offices, but chooses not to. I am relocating to a major city with no major CapOne presence and their response was “too bad, either fly up weekly or you’ll be terminated for not meeting the hybrid requirements”. It’s embarrassing because most of my week is remote anyways. I wonder how many current and past employees have been impacted, and I’m worried about how much talent they’ll be pushing away in the coming years.
