Pros
The People: They work together to selflessly help others deal with the painful effects of grief and bereavement. Good people doing extremely difficult/emotional work The Work: The satisfaction from knowing you are helping others; those who have been effected by Cancer whether themselves, their families and/or their loved ones. Bereavement for those who have suffered loss from Cancer.
Cons
Management: They do not see the value of their employees or the work that they do, just seen as conduits and cogs to drive funding. Financial resources "invested" towards renovations and meaningless needs as opposed to those people that are the very embodiment of the Organization. No Raises in 2 years (not even minimal cost of living), layoffs to counteract the excessive sum spent on renovations. Lack of internal and external vision. Social Workers turned into call center expected to deal with painful (sometimes suicidal conversations) for hours at a time with no break and no relief, reprimanded if they do not get back on the phone after 120 seconds. Extremely short-staffed. Poor compensation Zero Growth potential
