Pros

The company has projects in a variety of mediums, which allows those just entering the workforce to expand their skillset. The employees are generally hardworking and friendly.

Cons

The high turnover rate is staggering - during my time with the company (about a year), I saw 15 people come and go, sometimes by choice, sometimes not; keep in mind that the workforce was about 26 people (by my count) when I first started. Roles are often not filled again once a person leaves, and their responsibilities are then distributed amongst other employees. Deadlines and priorities are often not properly communicated. The amount of work for such a small staff is also ridiculous, and there is an unspoken expectation that afterhours and weekend work is necessary. The work culture stinks - there were very few opportunities to get to know my coworkers because the team was constantly scrambling to keep up with management's requests.

Pros

Working for the CFA has been an incredibly positive and rewarding experience. From day one, I have felt genuinely welcomed and supported by both my colleagues and the leadership team. The culture is one of collaboration, where everyone works together to support the Association's mission and uphold its values of representing franchising ethically and responsibly across Canada. The leadership team has been exceptional, providing outstanding training, guidance, and encouragement throughout my journey. Their investment in employee development has helped me learn a tremendous amount, build my confidence, and continually expand my skills. I have always felt encouraged to grow within the Association and explore opportunities to develop my career. One of the things I value most about working at the CFA is the people. Everyone is approachable, supportive, and genuinely committed to helping one another succeed. There is a fantastic team atmosphere every day, where achievements are celebrated, ideas are welcomed, and everyone works collectively towards shared goals. I am proud to be part of an organization that not only champions ethical and responsible franchising across Canada but also demonstrates those same values internally through its people, leadership, and workplace culture. I would highly recommend the CFA to anyone looking for a supportive, collaborative, and rewarding place to build a long-term career.
