Pros
- Extremely flat and collaborative workspace. You're a few feet away from your direct manager or CEO, and senior staff are very willing to make time for you.
- Flexibility of individuals not only in their day-to-day, but also in their career paths. The company embraces career changes of individuals and provides the opportunity for them to slowly transition into a role that both parties agree upon. On a day-to-day, you do your hours when and how you want to.
- The company believes every individual they hire is smart and capable. When things go south with a client, the company will always side with you first.
- A lot of responsibility but that's a great thing. Creates ownership of the work you're doing.
- Absolutely zero micromanagement and complete autonomy.
Cons
- The work isn't easy and begs for a niche skillset. A good accounting + technical background goes a long way. But everything is learnable.
- Unformalised onboarding and training that's not fully fleshed out yet, but getting better for newer consultants.
- A lot of change going on after recent acquisition.
