Pros

Salaries are competative. The 401k program is excellent. The supportive staff are very helpful toward one another but there is a distinct division between upper management and the rest of the firm's employees. Some department managers are great at communicating information and some are terrible, which leads to a lot a miscommunications.

Cons

Nepotism is alive and well at the Callan Sorority. You only need to be related to one of the top executives to land a job. The culture is touted by upper management as inclusive and that they listen to their people, but that is the farthest thing from the way life actually is here. Heads are in the sand. Internal communications are almost non-existent, especially when it in regards to anything negative about the firm or it's people. External communications are inconsistent. The HR department is basically a screen for upper management thus any complaints or grievances are swept under the rug and ignored entirely. If you are an investment whiz, there is probably a dream job for you at Callan (if you make into upper management). If you are anything else, you are most likely going to experience the worker drone syndrome at Callan. That is okay for anyone who has no ambition.
