Pros
- The work this organization does (healing children with treatable disabilities) is simply amazing. Being part of that, even indirectly, is so worth it. - Depending on the position, there can be a lot of flexibility for managing work-life balance - Many remote employees, meaning increased opportunity and flexibility for every position - There are some really excellent people in this organization who care very deeply for eachother and for the work they are doing - There has been an overt intent to engage with strategy/operations tools (StratOp), which has been a net gain for the organization
Cons
- A lot of transition, especially in the upper levels, in 2016-17. Much of the experience in the organization has exited, either voluntarily or involuntarily, recently. - Leadership in the organization is lacking and has been confused for a long time. There are some good leaders. There are some not so good ones, too. There's not been solid leadership at the top for many years. - Nepotism has dogged the organization for a long time - The "why" of the organization is not universally shared and understood in the same way among the leadership, which has lead to confusion - There is a lack of trust within the organization between departments - There has recently been a shift away from innovation, which was one of the elements that set this organization apart - There has been some pettiness with internal relationships that has no place in a professional organization, much less one that identifies as Christian.
