Comtrea has truely dedicated employees. These wonderful people choose to work with addiction and mental illness everyday. This program assists consumers with everyday life skills. Consumers get to interact with people experiencing the same issues they are dealing with. It is a great program and I am hoping government funding is still available to continue this life changing experience.
Cons
Unfortunately during my three years with this company I had three supervisors. My initial supervisor and the person who hired me was amazing. She was patient and hands on with all consumers. Her supervisory skills were the same. She was clear, consice and considerate.
The next supervisor avoided any conflict at all costs. When situations were brought to her attention they would be swept under the rug so to speak. This was extremely frustrating for all employees involved.
The final supervisor was horrific. Not only did she not bother to learn consumers names or what facility they resideded in she refused to interact with them. Consumers started to quit the program unless they were court ordered to attend. Clients felt like this person had no commitment to heleping them with their issues. Our entire Day Program staff left their jobs after several attempts with HR to rectify the situation.
