Pros
Good benefits (medical, dental, vision, tuition, retirement, parental leave) Good office space Relationship to federal lab makes it a little less dysfunctional that it would be otherwise
Cons
Human resources is HORRIBLE - they make countless mistakes and then use their knowledge of the system to make it everyone else is problem. I've personally experienced it twice and heard similar horror stories from two other people. They have their own human resources, proposal teams, finance office, IT, etc but none of these systems actually communicate well with the CU system and stuff falls through the cracks and it often hurts the employee. There is zero accountability for managers. Reviews are done by over-busy tenured faculty who don't do due diligence to remove their own subjective bias from evaluating people based on skills or competencies for the job and they aren't really committed to career growth for people. Honestly - this is the worst place I've ever worked and I've worked at six other places.
