It never used to be like this, but CIBT’s IT department is a *boiler room*. My senior manager had a limited understanding of the fundamentals of IT. From this place of ignorance, they would bluff, bluster and make stupid decisions. Because of this, they changed their mind often. However, they never made decisions on process or policy (like … um … testing) and never wrote anything down. That way, they were never accountable. Genius move. You are also expected to put long hours and weekends in to make up for their incompetence, flip-flopping and shortcomings. And when you’ve not seen your family for a week and worked 12 hour days to make that deadline in the middle of a crisis, you are rewarded with another crisis, more work and even tighter deadlines. Yey. You have been warned.
