Pros
Before the company was acquired by Check24, the IT team were comprised of really great people. After the Check24 deal, they lost 75%+ (and counting!) of the tech team. The turnover is that high! Almost everyone in the tech team at this moment has less than 6 months in the company. And they're also looking to leave.
Cons
Definitely, the worst place I ever worked at. The founders are the worse human beings I've met in my entire life. They're bad leaders and terrible managers. They don't trust employees and they lie to people. I've seen this happening all the time. They hire senior people and tell them what to do instead of involving them in the process. They make sure their ideas are done exactly as they want as they micromanage the hell of everyone. Technology in askCharlie was nice, using latest frameworks and languages. Technology from Check24 is from the pre-Mesozoic era, to say the least. I believe they never heard of Agile processes. MVP? non-existent. Check24 is run by German people for German people. If you don't speak German, you won't feel welcomed as all internal communications are done in German only. Documentation? Also German. Product discussions? Always in German. If you don't speak German you also won't get any recognition and don't expect to get a raise/promotion. Before the Check24 acquisition, there was a management team in place. This is non-existent right now. For one because most of those managers already left the company after being forced to give up on their askCharlie shares, and second because all the decisions that were taken by this team are now being taken by Check24 and the two clown founders. They take all kind of decisions, even the technical ones. And they're non-technical people. Can you imagine how this ends?
