Management would rather be your friend that meaningfully manage. They're all about coming into the office and doing social events until they need to trim staff and then it'll be done remotely over zoom. Layoffs sometimes happen as part of a corporate lifecycle but it shows no respect for employees when they aren't conducted face to face and worse still when the pretext is the overload the employee they clearly want to get rid of with work they can't handle and then complain that they are underperforming. There are better agencies to work for that will invest more in you as an employee and show you some dignity even when they're showing you the door.
