Pros
The pros are working for a cause that nearly anyone could feel passionate about helping. The work is often flexible, and there is relative autonomy.
Cons
The challenges are lack of a business structure, poor leadership, inadequate salaries and very poor benefits. There is little incentive to do outstanding work, and the mission can attract some personnel with less that stellar qualifications.
