Pros

Freight, freight logs and executions (only Singapore) teams are excellent in day to day biz. Some extremely talented and experienced people in the Asia dry biz but was sidelined by internal politics. Crush biz also has a good leader & director in Asia. Very talented marketers in Japan, Vietnam and Thailand. Research team is good but understaffed.

Cons

Too much circle jerking among senior management where it becomes about painting a legacy than chasing for profits. On the commods side, it's an absolute joke where daily/weekly/monthlys meetings is a chase for volumes (ongoing for many years). Senior management is also afraid to cut losses for fear it shows their wrong strategy & foresight in different or new markets. They will use mid-tiers, juniors, anyone as scapegoats for poor geographical performance during evaluation so please well beware. Consolidation of trading decisions in Geneva means less trading to do in Asia where you are essentially getting slowly transformed into a parrot but you get the blame when you miss important business. This is pretty standard across ABCDs however it's a red flag when the traders in Geneva aren't experienced with Asian markets but acts smart. Long winded meetings are far too much and far too inefficient. No one is willing to speak up for fear of getting their own evaluation marked down. With the acquisition of Viterra, there's even more circle jerking with everybody trying to fight for a slice of the pie and retaining their seat. Extremely old school systems and spreadsheets in place, with no proper manpower for controlling and traders & juniors have to do most of the work. Decades of wrong decision have turned this place into an absolute mess, such as transferring the majority of executions team to India in an attempt to cut costs but it resulted in Bunge having the reputation as "the absolute worst executions team in the entire industry". HR have an abnormally huge power in the company which on hindsight should have been a early warning sign despite being a cost center. No one is keen to hear them talk or organise townhalls. They are not your friends and will absolutely backstab you to curry favour with your boss/senior management. Director of HR will pick on people who aren't in front office and flag them for improper attire but do not dare do the same for directors or traders. There's also zero work life balance in this hell hole with the boss expecting employees to come in by 9am mon-fri + the usual working late till 11pm/12am to cover night markets. You might be put on PIP or get a warning letter for being late to office.

Pros

Good starting salaries Good coworkers Headquarters in St. Louis is awesome

Cons

Working in HR, I see A LOT of entitlement from senior leaders. The COO is so rude to employees. CHRO sits one floor above the HR department, and I’ve only seen her on our floor one time in 3 years. The overall perception of her within HR is not a positive one. She’s very cold and impersonal - not sure if she’s human. Morale is at an all-time low. Everyone is waiting to see who will be laid off next. Starting salaries are good but comp progression year over year is laughable for anyone below director level. The company nearly doubled in size since acquiring Viterra in 2025, but business services functions like HR keeps getting hit with layoffs, so workload has doubled while teams have been cut in half.
