I have feared being open and honest about Bullhorn for quite some time. As I was with Bullhorn for several years, I worked hard in my role and loved how much they cared about the culture.
In the past 1-1.5 years, the company as a whole has gone completely downhill. Many parts of the organization became completely militaristic with constant micromanaging and volatile management styles.
For a company that supposedly prides themselves off of the "Be Human" core value, they really treated us like robots. Having data driven metrics are great when the context is considered, but Bullhorn doesn't care about the context anymore. They do not want employees to "create an incredible customer experience" anymore and "creating an incredible employee experience" has been long lost.
Teams were being yelled at and reprimanded weekly by management who constantly threatened us with "REPERCUSSIONS!!!". Procedures and policies were changing daily and causing severe whiplash.
If you stand up for the company and what you believe in, they fire you. Many long-standing directors and supervisors were terminated within the past few months and are currently being badmouthed by current directors and management which is completely absurd and unacceptable. In a professional environment, there's no room for this type of slander and it should not be tolerated.
Every year, HR sends out training that explains that they're against retaliation and workplace harassment. Unfortunately, it's all just smoke and mirrors and HR doesn't care whatsoever about retaliation and hostile work environments.
I was consistently verbally abused by a former supervisor and he was terminated. Because I had gotten him terminated, I made the manager that hired him look unprofessional. So they fired me too. I was told that I was not being "confident" enough as I was mentally beaten down. I have had to attend therapy to undo much of the emotional trauma brought on me by this individual.
Specifically, during my time at Bullhorn, I was often given a ticket to work on only for my manager to take that ticket away and give me something that was much more difficult. They told me it was easy and made me feel like a failure as my entire team had no idea how to help resolve it. I was constantly working extended hours training myself on Bullhorn's systems. Originally, I was assigned a mentor, but he was let go and I wasn't given a replacement. I was just expected to know everything with a team unwilling to help me due to their own commitments.
I was open and honest with my manager about my neurodivergence and they were completely insensitive. Because I stutter and trip over words sometimes, I was "not confident". As a FYI, "writing it down" isn't an adequate solution to ADHD.
After I separated from the company, my former manager and teammate kept checking in my LinkedIn profile to a point where I needed to block them. It was excessive and a bit creepy.
Long story short, stay far far away from Bullhorn. The reviews on here are outdated and the company culture no longer aligns with the core values. Most of the positivity stems from management as they are the only people who can be remotely happy in their dictatorship environment. I have noticed that some recent negative reviews get removed and it's truly disheartening to see us all filtered from speaking up against the toxic and horrific conditions.
I am taking a big leap by sharing such a personal matter to me in hopes that I save someone else from ever having to work at this company.
