Cons
Bronto is the unwanted stepchild of Oracle. Through acquisitions, Oracle has stamped its name onto Bronto... yet it is the furthest thing from a truly Oracle company. Bronto doesn’t sell Oracle products nor could any employee tell you a thing about Oracle, and Netsuite for that matter. It’s a great software tool in a very saturated market. Their value pitch is dated and sounds like every other company in the space. They lose consistently in deals for one main reason, price. Constantly prospects will voice how they love the software and the sales rep, but they aren’t willing to donate a kidney to send sophisticated emails. What company puts tens of thousands of dollars aside to shoot out emails? Not many. Bronto executives pride themselves on calling the software “best in breed” yet even when they say it you question if they believe it. Its sad when you attend a company sales kickoff meeting to praise the successes of the company that quarter and only 2-5 people hit their number for the entire worldwide new business side of the organization. A sales rep basically knows going into the account executive role that he or she won’t hit goal, but it would be cool to close a deal or two before leveraging Oracle to go somewhere better. Somewhere happier. Somewhere with more realistic goals and prides themselves on not just how they support their customers, but their actual staff. It’s a game of numbers to help certain executives hit their goal to look good. They could care less about their employees. In my time there I watched the best of the best drop like flies from each sector of the company. Ask about our fossils page. It updates just as often as Donald Trump’s Twitter. The majority of sales directors are talented, strong leaders. BDR management is not of the same caliber. Micromanaging has become quite the new trend. Their BDRs are being ruled out of fear, receiving constant passive aggressive emails and comments, and being told empty threats with unattainable quotas. If you enjoy having mandated daily call blocks - this place is a great fit for you! If you care to visit the beautiful office, you’ll be overwhelmed with the funk in the air filled of unhappiness and resentment. Who knows what Oracle and Netsuite have in store for this place? Something needs to change.
