Pros

I came into the job with zero theater experience and over the time I've been here I've learned a great deal on how the industry works. It's a great side job if you're an artist working on your craft at the same time. The people out working in this industry are the coolest. You'll meet a ton of great people while talking to tourists. Lastly, if you read this far, the coolest part of the job is the Broadway Tickets. You'll get tickets to any show they represent so it's a great chance to see a ton of theater!

Cons

It's a start up so there's always small growing pains but generally it's been great. If you are nervous talking to people this isn't the job for you. It's a great lesson on how to overcome failure but if you are not fit for critique this won't be your favorite job. The hours can also be low during the slow months when people are not purchasing Broadway tickets. Lastly it gets super hot in the summer and very cold in the winter so if you do not like working outside, try something else.

Pros

They have fairly flexible scheduling and I usually can pick up extra shifts if I am available. The shows and brands that BC reps are usually really great too, and it's obviously easier/more enjoyable to promote higher quality shows and experiences.

Cons

It's a year round job outside, so working in the elements is not the best sometimes. But we have umbrellas, nice jackets, hand warmers, popsicles to make sure we are comfortable when it get's rainy or snowy or too hot.

Pros

Absolutely none to speak of.

Cons

They had me complete not one, but TWO forms that took at minimum 2 hours each. The first was an about me application (despite submitting a resume and cover letter) and the second was a writing sample in which I had to write a few paragraphs based on the examples provided so they could see what kind of work I would be submitting. I submitted both of these forms within 24 hours, and after a few follow up emails, I heard absolutely nothing back despite in the previous email assuring me I will be "moving forward to the final interview". I don't know if they're using this to get free work done for them or what, but I feel entirely exploited and disrespected. Huge waste of time. Absolutely hate that this is what the work culture is like now and I am so sick of it. Someone needs to call these companies out for treating applicants like dirt. Do not waste your time with Broadway Crew. If this is how they treat someone who is interested in their company, can't imagine how they treat employees once they're on a payroll.
