Pros
Competitive salary, good work/life balance, low meeting overhead. Broadcom is a place where they let you get work done. Meetings are often scheduled in the evenings to allow multiple continents to attend, and the later ones can be attended from home over the phone. Many groups allow flexible hours once you prove yourself able to get work done.
Cons
Marketing driven engineering, corporate attitude, slow growth. It can be hard for an engineering sourced feature to get a green light, and it's easier to give up rather than convince all the right people. It's getting more "big corporate" attitude every year and every penny counts to management now. Freebies and celebrations are much harder to come by than they once were, and bonuses are awarded less often.
