Pros

Pay was decent, as was some of the perks.

Cons

1. Health care premiums started off low when Bristol used to manage itself, but now that it's owned by investors, each year the cost increase has outpaced your yearly raises ($0.14hr). By the time I left as a full time employee, the lowest plan was $140 a week for a family. The new company I work with now offers insurance at $30 a week, with better coverage. 2. Bring back the 6% 401k match. Once of the huge drawing points for me applying to Bristol was this nice bonus. But as the years have gone on, I have seen the match go from 6 to 3 and then down to a 1. Seriously 1% ??!! It's truly a joke and one of the main reasons why I left. Thankfully my current employee continues to offer 6% making sure their employees are set for their future. 3. Treat your employees better. While I loved working with customers in my department, I could not stand all the drama the other employees had with each other. I could tell how some employees were also fed up with how the company was treating them as I saw shrink (internal theft) on a daily basis. Since you currently don't have a LP position, employees have been taking advantage of you each and every day. 4. Have integrity in your business. While I understand that the grocery business runs on tight profit margins, there is no reason to have the employees do questionable things. I have seen food labels removed and issued new dates, about to expire items stored in a freezer to have them hidden from the health department and even saw a case of regular chicken that came from Food 4 Less repackaged as air chilled to be put in the display case. Stop with the famous Bristol motto of "Stack it high, watch it fly" and also end of the shrink meetings that have managers coming out in tears. Let employees throw out food that should not be severed to customers ! Sooner or later someone is going to get sick, and it will all fall back on you and how to run the business.

Pros

I always got full hours even when I was part time.

Cons

Unnecessary stress for a job that should not consume your life. The locations I’ve worked at all employees (ESPECIALLY OPS) act like high schoolers
