Pros
1. There is a real opportunity here to stretch and grow. You are your only limitation on what you can learn and how willing you are to dig for answers. 2. There is no age discrimination. You are valued for past experience and the industry knowledge you bring to the table. 3. Fantastic opportunity to redefine yourself and to make new friends. Every project, every help desk call is a new opportunity, a blank sheet of paper. 4. Lots of travel, lots of non-tourist, 'this is how they really live' travel. (this can fall on either Pros or Cons, depending how tired I am at the moment.) 5. When I'm not traveling, I work from home. I really like the dress-code there.
Cons
1. Lots of travel, lots of non-tourist, 'this is how they really live' travel. (this can fall on either Pros or Cons, depending how tired I am at the moment.) 2. Salary is not what it should be for the work / hours / skillset. There's no limitation on what you can learn and do - but learning more does not seem to increase your salary, only the variety of help desk tickets you are assigned.
