Pros
- Coworkers are kind, empathetic people that are great to work with - Relatively diverse (at least compared to other places I've been at) - There's lots of social communities on slack that you can join if you go and search for them
Cons
- The more corporate PayPal culture is seeping into Braintree, and for someone searching for a more "startup-y" kind of culture, this was a very poor fit - Work life balance can be variable: initially it was great, but my team suffered from heavy attrition and it became much worse in the matter of a month due to oncall responsibilities - Poor communication/ extremely slow action (if any) from upper management on numerous issues, from hiring/ handling attrition to maintaining health of the team when we're drowning in work - Compensation isn't anything special, a lot of firms in the Chicago area will pay more
