Pros
BOOM! pays well for the industry, a $6K pay bump from my similar position at IDW. I've received two raises, a holiday bonus, and a contract for a retention bonus since I began 13 months ago. There is a lot of room for growth, with a lot of internal education and mentorship opportunities. There's a clear line of command and clear expectations for the roles. BOOM! covers my entire insurance premium and I get 10 sick days per year.
Cons
There's an unfortunate industry standard for disorganization that BOOM! doesn't escape from. Managers can vacillate between lack of attention and micromanagement. There isn't always clarity about when is the right time to seek permission to move forward with something and when one can make a decision on their own.
