Pros

Good pay and benefits for the nonprofit sector. Decent work environment. Mostly very nice people. Convenient downtown location. Despite a changing focus and priorities, the mission is still important.

Cons

The board hired one very bad CEO who really hurt the organization's finances and morale, but it is working to come out of that hole. They require staff to share sleeping rooms at the conference hotel.

Pros

BoardSource has the best staff I've had the privilege to work with. The culture of BoardSource is one where each employee feels supported, feels challenged, and feels like they are part of the bigger mission of BoardSource. Even after being gone from BoardSource for several years, I'm still in touch with many of my co-workers, some who are still there and others who are no longer there. It's a great place to work.

Cons

Because it's a smaller organization, it's more difficult to move up the ladder. However, I always felt challenged with new opportunities within my role and supported when I proposed new ideas.

Pros

Flexible schedule, supportive environment, focus on team bonding

Cons

Not run like a business, obvious that it's a small nonprofit with limited resources
