Pros
* I am surrounded by the smartest people I ever have worked around. * The the individual contributor and level 1 managers generally are trying their best. * Tons of low hanging fruit, if you have drive and can politic well, you will shine quickly.
Cons
* Every battle is up-hill. Fighting for funding to purchase something, fighting for time to invest into a project, fighting for priority in bottleneck work centers, everything is a fight. * Whiplash is constant. Expect no consistent messaging from leadership. * Level 1 managers are generally pretty good, like 70/30 good to bad. Level 2 is like 40/60. Level 3 is 10/90, ect... Management is filled with yes men who will quicker lick a boot for a goal than stand up for reality. They are all just gaming metrics trying to get their incentive plan bonuses with no regard for the final output of the company.
