Pros
Working from home Cash bonuses Good colleagues
Cons
Outdated software, bugs get filed and never deemed important enough to fix. Many of them have been pending for years with 0 progress. Slow development on new products and bug fixing for existing products, the developers in the US were replaced by Indian outsourcing (I guess to save money) and it has gone downhill as they have less experience and no product knowledge. Very US focused company, the rest of the world doesn’t seem to exist. Stupid business decisions from up high, no transparency for the workers on the ground. Internal promotions if you are in the ‘Blackbaud clique’, if you’re not part of that then good luck trying to move jobs! Dealing a lot with US analysts who have god complexes and get away with being incredibly rude and difficult. I feel that no one really knows what they are doing and half-arse their jobs because they get away with it with no repercussions. So much for the “We work as one” culture that’s constantly thrown down our throats by management. Customer support gets forgotten about by the rest of the company but we are left to clean up the mess made by incompetent upper management. We are told of massive business decisions at the very last minute and expected to deal with the customer fallout, like new price increases and fees for payments or removing software features for whatever reason (we are never told why). It’s becoming exhausting and repetitive and a lot of customers are losing faith which I can’t blame them, due to lack of competition and alternatives we seem to get away with these decisions.
