Pros
Great health benefits, HSA/FSA, parental leave, 401k match, brand new, open concept office, some remote flexibility (depending on mgr), and ample PTO. Yes- there is cold brew on draft and free snacks but is that really enough to make you want to stay at an employer? The people who work in the CHS office are fabulous (minus senior mgmt).
Cons
Don't let the whole "we work to empower nonprofits" message fool you- management works to increase shareholder value. Period. So if that means paying people below average for the work they do, so be it. If that means laying people off every January because the stock price tanked, so be it. If that means not training people so they can be more knowledgeable in their job and with market trends, so be it. If that means piling more work on the backs of the employees left after a "restructuring" and not filling open positions, so be it. Groupthink here is in full display- I'd advise against having an opinion that goes against upper mgmt, as you will be viewed as someone who is disagreeable and hard to work with. And good luck getting work done- its gotten consistently harder and harder due to the excessive red tape and approval processes put in place the past 18 months. And finally, don't expect to be promoted. And if you are promoted, please look excited when they give you an extra $3,000 and double the responsibilities.
