Pros
Blackadders is a really great employer to work for as a trainee solicitor. You get your own tablet, mobile and car parking token. Every trainee is allocated a mentor when they start. My mentor was amazing - really supportive and understanding. The firm has an amazing social media presence and allows you free reign to say what you want. The firm encourages you to tweet as often as you like- plus I retained my twitter name when I left the firm. Blackadders also offers training academies every week, most of which are really helpful. I had the pleasure of working in the Employment Team for six months. Simon Allison was an inspirational leader! I wish I could have stayed working with him and the rest of the team. I also really enjoyed working with Emma Gray who really knows her stuff. She worked me hard but also rewarded me and was very fair.
Cons
The office is slightly dated. There is no vending machine anywhere within the building. Didn’t enjoy working in the residential conveyancing team at all. My line manager was a nightmare to work with- really insincere and quite moody.
