Pros

Company is fully remote, provides great flexibility in schedule and overall the three directors run a tight ship to provide support to teams and help individuals develop their skill set. Company is very horizontal, so it's clear where "orders" should come from and where they shouldn't. Open communications, honesty and integrity are prevalent. You'll be amazed an excited about the skills and intelligence of your coworkers. People working at Big River usually love what they do and you can sense that in the atmosphere. Salary-wise: you will bill according to an hourly rate (based on a negotiated yearly salary range divided by the standard number of working hours in a year). You can work more (or less) than your average 37.5h/week if you want to; it is a great way to make extra money...that's the beauty of consulting. You can also take on reduce working schedules to accommodate your preferences. TLDR: very humane organization where the leadership cares about your well-being and professional development. There will always be work for you (no idle time), and the hourly rate format makes it easy to make a fruitful ($) experience. Recommended to anyone wanting to go into consulting.

Cons

It's a fast-paced consulting environment. Lots of multitasking and working on multiple projects at the same time. The range of projects taken on is quite vast and you will often work on projects outside your area of expertise, this creates lots of uncertainty sometimes, but it's good to push yourself and explore new things. I personally discovered certain econometric modelling approaches that I'm loving (and that I would have never thought I would get exposed to, let alone enjoy it).
