Pros
After years of internships and part-time work, BeyondCurious is the first company where I have felt that I'm getting a "real world" experience. The processes are incredibly fast-paced and ever changing. I've never experienced so much pivoting in my life. BeyondCurious's culture is very innovative and agile, but built on a foundation of accountability, which is very important in a newer, small company. Because of this culture of accountability, I've been given a lot of freedom and trust. I've been able to experience so many different fields of work that I couldn't get in my program at school, and I've been given a chance to work on what I want to work on. It really shows how much BeyondCurious values their employees. Everyone working here has many different skills and passions, and you'l hardly ever get a "no" to help. The small company culture creates such a close and friendly environment, it really feels like a family.
Cons
Sometimes it's hard to adjust to the environment, and it can be high-stress. A lot of people who work here are wildcards, which makes sense for a small company, but being a new intern, it can feel like you don't have a direct purpose aligned with your skills, but you just need to be able to be in constant communication with fellow employees and management to make sure you stay aligned with the company mission and happy with what you're doing.
