Like any company, priorities and workload fluctuate but at times, I felt that the fluctuations were too extreme. The most recent CEO caused for a lot of change in the office in face of business decisions that led to people losing their jobs and BKi to merge with a large environmental company.

Start up culture brimming with lots of young, talented energy and veteran mentorship to steer the way. Many opportunities for junior staff to develop new skills and refine their areas of interest. A great place to get hands on training and experience with research processes and development.

Insecure middle management that feels the need to build their image on the backs of others. Less seasoned professionals may tolerate a hostile management style, but untrustworthy tactics will show their true colors, sooner or later. In all my years as a professional, I have never been told to "shoo" while trying to have a mature conversation about the work at hand.
