Pros

Good way to get your foot in the door; bring your dog to work; beautiful office design; easy parking; can be interesting depending on the department and client; some smart coworkers; decent benefits

Cons

Highest turnover I've ever seen at an agency; a LOT of restructuring and uncertainty while the company struggles to stay relevant and increase profits after stalling over the last couple of years; incompetent managers who are known for being incompetent yet still get promoted when former ones wisen up and leave; disillusioned workers who realized the discrepancy between the way the company sells itself vs how it actually operates; new employees are pumped up to falsely believe they can make an impact; very political; difficult to advance unless already favored; technically a full house shop but actually only excels at packaging (the money maker) so work in other departments can seem undervalued and inconsequential; risk-averse and not open to innovative ideas or true creative; consistently promises more "support" that never arrives or is only temporary; drink-the-kool-aid culture that includes calling themselves Periscopians; HR and high-visibility leaders put on a deceptively saccharine face to the public and prospective employees (see company's responses to reviews); just a real mess

I'm honestly not quite sure how to respond to this review, other than to say it reached the eyes of the people you wanted it to reach. We review all of our feedback on Glassdoor, and take every comment seriously -- both the positive and the negative. I will admit, however, that I smiled a bit at your comment on HR being "deceptively saccharine" -- as I can honestly say that no one has ever used the word "saccharine" to describe me. :) (In fact, I hear more of the opposite.) If you're still at Periscope, my challenge to you is simply this: believe that *you* can make a difference. If you work for someone who isn't listening to your concerns, come find me. And if it's *me* that you're frustrated with, please go over my head and meet with any member of our Executive Committee. Brittany Hested can make that happen for you. I still believe in Periscope, and that's not the Kool-Aid talking. If you'd like to be involved in changing things for the better, find me. I'm hard to miss. :) But, if you don't think that Periscope can meet your professional needs anymore, I certainly I hope you find a place that can. Life's too short to be that unhappy. -- Sara Kosiorek, Director, Agency Operations
