Pros

- Great community and highly skilled co-workers - Puts employees and game quality first - No crunch. People are expected to keep balanced working hours and take their vacations. - Leadership listens and cares. If you see ways to optimize workflows, community or outcomes, your inputs will be welcomed. - The company has morals and a positive vision.

Cons

- The entrepreneur/innovator spirit isn't for everyone. I enjoy the challenges and wearing many hats, but I've seen other hires not work out when they'd have been more comfortable in a more predictable and clearly specified job, than one that puts a lot of agency and responsibility on you to define and optimize your own role. - There's a lot of pivots and iterative changes on the product. I love that we're committed to iterating and exploring until we reach really high quality, but the constant rapid prototyping also means you're also going to get attached to a lot of things that eventually end up changing. Your first 6 months at the company will probably see some psychological adjustment to just how many iteration stages we sometimes go through, even for systems that were reasonably solid to begin with, and how that rapid prototyping process can sometimes affect your work schedule on very short notice.

Pros

- Quality games that I've personally been able to enjoy. - Outstanding team members - Good culture and social dynamics - Excellent work-life balance - Transparent and pleasant leaders - Ethical leadership - When I had a specific incident of criticism of a behavior pattern by someone in company leadership, the feedback I gave was met with appreciation by both that person and my direct leader and the problem was solved. - Employees from many countries and cultures. - Being a (very open) sexual minority was unremarkable - never judged, nor celebrated. Not a single person at the company ever treated me differently for it.

Cons

- Vision and direction subject to a lot of change. Usually in a good iterative process and for solid reasons, but can still lead to uncertainty or wasted work.

Pros

Strong focus on results and making sure we do what's critical Caring management style with focus on own passions and wishes in career development Gave me a once in a lifetime startup experience where I slept in a sauna Fun and serious colleagues at the same time Good focus on making a sustainable business out of game development Ample opportunity for taking responsibility in many areas (also needed)

Cons

High pressure environment is not for everyone. Early years had a lot of uncertainty. Rare are opportunities to focus on a specific area with so many things that need doing.
