Pros

Nice discount, meet different people every day, on the road installer you somewhat set your own hours and do your job the way that is best for you and the customer, and not have a manager watching you telling you how to suck eggs.

Cons

Clueless field supervisors occasionally wanting to ride along, you can get terminated for trivial reasons that do not affect the business or customers. Office politics rampant. Female manageresses are mostly clueless and know little about the products. When you start earning 'too much' its more likely you will get laid off or terminated on the next wave of layoffs. One guy in Calgary was laid off after NINETEEN YEARS, probably because by that time he was earning $23 an hour. As an installer one has to constantly advise customers within the store and at home to head off sharking by the greedy salesmen, or correct often amusingly inaccurate advice as in store salesmen in best buy and future shop can often sell what makes them most comission, not what is best for the customer. Eg, pushing overpriced junk like bose instead of good value stuff like Polk. The company vision and morals/ethics may be fine and happy at HQ, but it can stink at grassroots, it doesn't trickle down.

Pros

Pay, fairly easy to communicate, lot of work, flexible schedule

Cons

Big corporation, impossible to implement new ideas that actually work, they change things based on some crazy idea from a Executive that never had any hands on experience, they make major changes out of nowhere!
