Pros
The work (software) that Beeline is doing is pretty disruptive and interesting. Buying a home is a huge PITA and from what I've learned about the software they have, it's really impressive and intuitive. I was working remotely from NYC and directly with their marketing team. As a remote team member, I never felt that I needed to be at my computer for all 8 hours of the work day (which was good!). There was definitely a freedom to accomplish content goals. Weekly calls with team members were very helpful as well as the strategy evolved.
Cons
The only issue I have with Beeline is how the decision to let me go was handled. I've been let go from jobs before. This time stood out quite a bit. I've worked very closely with my team members for a little over 5 months before getting the disappointing news. Without any kind of performance evaluation (formal or casual) from my actual team members, I was called by HR and they clearly read from a canned "How To Let Someone Go" script when giving me the news that I've been let go. I would have very much preferred (like most would) to have had a constructive conversation with my actual team members (there were 4 of them at the time) regarding their thoughts on my performance so that we can work through these thoughts and see if there was a chance to improve. Instead, I got an impersonal call from what felt like a law office that I've been let go. So in short, the cons of working at Beeline (based on my personal experience) are that there is little-to-no focus on communication for team performance and the brand that Beeline claims to be on the surface does not seem to stay true for their own team members. It's very "we're all a family" at first and then this feeling seems to go away completely when the corporate office calls you and says "so it's not a happy call". I was also given a very generic reason for being let go. Lastly, I produced a specific content type for the company while working there and after they let me go, they published it. The issue with this is that my name is mentioned multiple times and my family and friends were all notified of the new content. Most of them are unaware that I was let go from my role so this action left me feeling insulted and embarrassed. I'm now having to share bad news that I was hoping to wait on until the time was appropriate. This decision felt reckless to me.
