Pros

There is a lot to like about Beebom. First and foremost, the most influential Indian tech blog provides an enormously friendly environment where you can learn, enhance, and multiply your professional skills. The pro tools, thorough training, and more significantly; decisive guidance go a long way in getting the most out of you. And that too without any sort of pressure whatsoever! But what stands out Beebom from the rest is the impressive package you get - in accordance with what you truly aspire and deserve.

Cons

Frankly speaking, it's really hard to find cons from the platform that has checked off all of the essential boxes that I have set pretty high as a senior technology writer with around ten years of expertise. It's been almost five months since I joined Beebom. And I must say I'm loving every bit of pro culture and the facilities that I get here. So, I don't have any cons at all - at least for now!

Pros

Good pay. That's really the only positive aspect I can highlight.

Cons

Where do I start? 1. The editing process lacks constructive feedback. Work is heavily micromanaged, and the environment feels unappreciative. Mistakes are quickly pointed out, but good work is rarely acknowledged or validated. 2. There is a significant amount of micromanagement from the founders and co-founders. They heavily step in to regulate the published content, which creates the impression that they do not trust the editorial team's leadership. It is not a great outlook. 3. The HR department does not feel like a safe advocate for employees. Providing anonymous feedback is difficult, and there is a pervasive fear that bringing up issues will be used against you, contributing to a highly difficult work culture. 4. Employee well-being does not seem to be a priority. The expectations are incredibly rigid, and there are far too many unreasonable restrictions on how and when you can use your leaves. 5. Writers lack visibility into how their work performs. Performance metrics and numbers are not shared proactively unless you specifically request them. 6. The organization is extremely focused on capital. From my perspective, the editorial and video direction heavily favors sponsored content, which often requires focusing strictly on positive coverage. This compromises the authenticity of the reviews being pushed out to millions of followers who take them seriously. 7. Favoritism is highly prominent. Career progression and promotions seem heavily dependent on the appeasement of senior staff rather than merit. I've seen people rise in the ranks way too quickly simply by playing office politics. If you offer critical feedback or speak ill of anyone, you are largely ignored and sidelined like a ghostwriter.
